Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭8‬:‭10‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because He puts His laws in our minds and hearts. Because of Christ, everyone has a relationship with Him. Some may chose to not have it, but Christ knows them and they can know Him. Every second of the day, we are either feeding our flesh or the Spirit of God in us. One leads to death and the other to abundant life. Please pray that we choose to feed the Spirit inside us every second today. Please pray for Jonnell, Cedric and Devon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭7‬:‭27‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of how Christ died for our sins “once for all”. I still try to earn His forgiveness and it gives me great peace to know that forgiveness cannot be earned, it can only be accepted and appreciated. Please pray that we and our friends live today appreciating what Christ has already done for us. Please pray for Cheever and Stevens group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭11-12‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of what we put our hope in.  I constantly find myself putting my hopes in earthly things that seem so important. They even have God entwined within them, but they have plenty of flesh in them also. God promises abundant life and seems to take away the things I think bring life in order to really show me life like I do to my kids. Please pray that we “seek first the kingdom of God”. Please pray for Doug and Brandon’s group starting in May.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of obedience through suffering. We talked about this yesterday in CLC and it reminded me of the story of how a silversmith will put the silver over the hottest part of the fire. Intently watching it while the dross is being melted away. He will keep it in the hot fire until he can see is image in the silver and then pull it away. Please pray that we and our friends seek to conform to the image of Christ today by yielding to God. Please pray for the CLC co-facilitator training this morning.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭11-12‬ ESV)

This sticks out because of its relationship to discerning God’s will. “Rest” is really the ultimate peace to me now. When Paul speaks about the rest God gives us, I get the sense that it’s a confidence and peace that God is in control of everything around me and He has my ultimate best interest at heart. God is not wringing His hands anticipating a outcome. He knows exactly what we should do because He has seen it played out. What may seem against common sense to us is clear to Him. Please pray that we and our friends go to God with any anxiety and ask for His wisdom and discernment for that situation(Phil 4:6-7). Please pray for the CLC co-facilitator training tomorrow morning.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of the need to continually be in the Word. I talk to many men who express the fundamental need to be in the Word daily and when they drift from it, life gets more chaotic. God gave us the Bible and wants to help us by speaking to us through it daily AS we need it, not after it. Just like we want to help our loved ones when they are in pain and not after it, he wants to help us during. Please pray that we and our friends spend time in the Bible today.  Please pray for the CLC co-facilitator training this Tuesday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” (‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because we have been “anointed with the oil of gladness”. This seems to mean that we have a internal joy that God gives to us that is NOT dependent on outside circumstance. I don’t think it means that our circumstances will always be great, but that we will have a joy that is internal and only come from God. Please pray that we and our friends appreciate and are grateful at all times for what Christ has done for us. Please pray for the CLC co-facilitator training meeting on Tuesday morning from 7:00-8:30.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel, but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own accord.” (‭Philemon‬ ‭1‬:‭13-14‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because “but of your own accord”. We all know God gave man free will, but do we think about the joy that comes when we decide that we WANT him to be in charge of everything we do. The joy that comes when knowing that His outcome is best no matter what I think is best at the time. Please pray that we “seek first the kingdom of God..” all day today. Please pray for our CLC Buckhead social tonight at Piedmont Driving Club.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,” (‭Titus‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Paul’s says to be ready for every good work. Do we have enough margin in our lives to do every good work?  God wants us to do His purpose and we can’t if we don’t have margin from our purpose.  We can only be in a position to do His purpose if we have margin and if we can live in the moment.  Please pray that we and our friends will be ready for every good work today. Please pray for the CLC co-facilitator training next Tuesday from 7-8:30 am.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” (‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭11-13‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of “waiting for our blessed hope”. Lent is a time for us to look at our lives and see if we are putting our “hope” in anything more than Christ. I know I start putting hope in things above Christ and I don’t realize it until it’s firmly rooted, but once convicted Christ will give us the power to let it go. Please pray that we and our friends seek Christ first in our lives and do away with anything competing with Christ. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social this Thursday.
