Daily CLC Prayer verse

“To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.” (‭Titus‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of how important your mindset or attitude is. I know plenty of people who justify “lying, cheating stealing” because everyone else is and they need to do so to keep up in the world. Paul says to be pure knowing that “unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers labor in vain”. Christians know that God is in control and they don’t not have to “lie, cheat and steal” to accomplish God’s purpose. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s purpose today with a pure attitude. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social this Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of its subtle nature again. I know I hesitate to obey in certain areas and instead of obeying, I will continue to “learn” what God says and analyze, but not “obey” it. I don’t think Christ cares if we know what we should do or not. He only cares if we actually obey or not. Please pray that we and our friends obey the Word of God. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social this Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.” (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭22-23‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because the subtle danger that creeps in when we invest our time in “foolish, ignorant controversies”. The first verse teaches us to “pursue” righteousness, …  That’s a big difference in the two ways to spend our time. Please pray that we and our friends pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with our our community in Christ. Please pray for the Buckhead social this Thursday at Piedmont Driving club.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,” (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭8-9‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Paul says, “not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace”.  God has a plan and purpose for our lives and he has seen it as if it was yesterday. His wisdom combined with His grace is all we need. We can’t add or take away. Please pray that we and our friends trust God completely today. Please pray for Brandon and Doug’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you.” (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭20-21‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out today because of “irreverent babble”. Paul keeps bringing this up in Timothy and it seems to apply today. My mind will waste a good part of the day having debates in my mind with “faceless” people that I read about or see on tv about politics or about right and wrong. This does absolutely no good what so ever. However, it takes my mind off being grateful for what God has given me and that can only “swerve me from the faith”. Please pray that we and our friends focus on what God wants us to focus on. Please pray for our co-facilitator training on March 24th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not.” (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of the idlers again. Here they are “gossips and busybodies”. I don’t think I’m tempted in this area much, but I’m sure I do my fair share without realizing it. This hurts the body of Christ in such a subtle way that it’s very effective for satan. It seems the subtle things are what destroy. We see the noticeable things and stay away, but the subtle things creep in and become a part of life. Please pray that we and our friends are mindful of ALL our actions and discern the subtle ones even more. Please pray for Jonnell, Cedric and Devon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse.

“for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.” (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭8-9‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of “godliness”. I assume godliness here is a mindset of the heart as opposed to certain actions. I know I can just go through the motions sometimes, but God wants our hearts. If our hearts long for God, our actions will follow in every situation. Please pray that we and our friends see first the kingdom of God. Please pray for Doug and Brandon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭3-4‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because “all people”. Some people think Christ is done with them or maybe done with people that have sinned “too much”. Christ died for all people and we as Christians should remember that when we are tempted to condemn others. Please pray that we and our friends spread the news of Christ’s love today. Please pray for the Buckhead CLC social on March 19th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.” (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭13-14‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of where people start as Christians. Everyone has something in their past that they are ashamed of. The problem is that some Christians think they are not worthy to talk about Christ for fear of being called a hippocrite. Christ indwells us with His power to do His purpose for today. Please pray that we and our friends trust God and yield to His power to do His purpose ALL day today. Please pray for Carver Grocery store under FCS ministries.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.” (‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭10-11‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because people who “walk in idleness” seem to be extremely “normal” now. I’ve been on many church projects where we accomplished something that many “idle” people could have done easily. It seems the easy route to solve something is to get a busy person to do it. I’m encouraged that some CLC men are taking the time to create a situation where “idle” people can feel the pride of working for their food and not choosing to be idle. Please pray that we and our friends seek work in he Kingdom of God. Please pray for Jonnell, Cedric and Devon’s group.
