Daily CLC Prayer verse

““And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:17-21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the Old Testament points to Christ. Peter used the Jewish people’s Holy Word to help them understand and also to repent so they could receive Christ. How many times have we continued in error because we think we “can’t change now”? Please pray that we and our friends meet people where they are and love them. Steven Covey said, “People don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care”. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.2.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind”. The Apostles didn’t know that day was going to be Pentecost. They were faithfully praying and supporting one another and focusing on Christ. What could happen today? Are we looking for the Holy Spirit to empower us today? Please pray that we and our friends pray, support and focus on Christ today. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.1.14.esv
All,
This stands out because they devoted themselves to prayer right after Jesus rose to heaven. They didn’t spending time “doing” something, but “being”. When I feel “off” and something just isn’t right, it’s great to be able to go to God in prayer and ask His guidance. There is so much that we don’t see, but God does and He wants us to be even closer to Him during those moments just like we want our children holding our hands during tense moments. Please pray that we and our friends pray today as soon as we feel disconnected to God. Please pray for the men that are considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.”‭‭John‬ ‭21:9-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.21.9-14.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “Come and have breakfast.” If you had just a moment to spend with the core guys that would spread your good news to the world, what would you say? Jesus doesn’t use the time to lecture, but to LOVE them. There are many times I get tremendous peace from reminding myself simply that “Jesus loves me”. Please pray that we and our friends take solace in the simple fact that Jesus loves us. Please pray for the men that are considering leading a CLC group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.”‭‭John‬ ‭20:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.20.6-9.esv
All,
This stands out because John says about himself, “and he saw and believed”. Believed? What did he believe before then? John was one of Jesus’s core three. John had seen Jesus transfigured on the mountain and now he says he believed. It seems like Jesus will reveal more of who He is the more we walk with Him. Is it a matter of us believing or Jesus transforming us that allows us to believe? Please pray that we and our friends continue walking with Jesus and be amazed at what He will reveal to us today. Please pray for the men that are considering forming new CLC groups now.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.”‭‭John‬ ‭19:25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.19.25.esv
All,
This stands out because of how the Bible treats women. Since women were not highly regarded during this time, why would a writer speak about the women that were standing at the cross? Or that women witnessed Jesus’s tomb empty or the women that held such importance in the line of Jesus? Christianity is not bound by any cultural norm of the day that may ebb and flow. Please pray that we and our friends stand on the firm foundation of seeking the Bible for answers today. Please pray for Brandon and Doug’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now it was the day of Preparation of the Passover. It was about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” So he delivered him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus,”‭‭John‬ ‭19:14-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.19.14-16.esv
All,
This stands out because the chief priests said, “We have no king but Caesar.” We had a long discussion in CLC this morning about the rich man that Jesus told to give all his possessions away. God knows we can only serve ONE master. The rich man was tempted to worship money. The chief priests were tempted to worship power. He will bring us all to the point of making a decision of who or what to worship and we will all chose. Please pray that we and our friends recognize whatever is competing with God in our lives and make a decision to chose God. Please pray for Jonnell and Devon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?””‭‭John‬ ‭18:10-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.18.10-11.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus was always about the purpose of the Father. We know it troubled Him so much that he sweated blood, but Jesus wanted God’s purpose first and foremost. Do we ask what God’s purpose is in ALL our situations? Especially the bad ones? How about the irritating ones? There are people that seem to love to irritate and can never just be. Are they part of God’s purpose? Please pray that we and our friends see everything as God’s purpose and how He wants us to walk in the situation. He has a purpose in everything (Romans 8:28). Please pray for Tyson and Donny’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”‭‭John‬ ‭17:19-21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.17.19-21.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word”. You will play a part in people knowing Christ. From a eternal perspective, that is the most exhilarating thing you could ever be a part of. For eternity, that person will be thankful for you and the part you played. Please pray that we and our friends obey Christ and His purpose today so we may be a part in someone knowing Christ today. Please pray for Robert and Jim’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”‭‭John‬ ‭16:22-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jhn.16.22-24.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “and no one will take your joy from you.” The disciples turned into different people after seeing Jesus resurrected. Their hope was 100% in Jesus therefore no one could take their joy from them. Even when they died, they were in joy. Jesus knows if we put our hope in any “thing” but Him, that “thing” can be taken away in a second. Jesus will always be. Please pray that we and our friends put 100% of our hope in Christ. Please pray for Cedric, Jonnell and Devon’s group.
