Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:10-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Ananias said, “Here I am, Lord.” Saul was a established enemy of the new followers of Jesus and Ananias obeyed God. God has a plan and we never know when He will interact in someone’s life such that they are ready to know God. Please pray that we and our friends will follow God’s nudge and speak to the very person who we assume does not want to hear from us. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.””‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:26-29‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Luke said, “And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” Philip obeyed the Spirit. Evangelism 101 should be obey the Holy Spirit. We may create elaborate plans or try to come up with the perfect words, but God is in charge and He just wants us to obey His nudges. Please pray that we and our friends respond to the opportunities that are around us today. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip when they heard him and saw the signs that he did.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:3-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.8.3-6.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke said, “Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.” Even though Philip fled to Samaria, he preached the Word and proclaimed the good news of Christ. What could be seen as “bad”, God uses for His good and in a miraculous way. Please pray we and our friends see all circumstances today in God’s purpose and trust God in obedience. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:58-60‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.7.58-60.esv
All,
This stands out because of the love Stephen had for the people he was preaching to. He knew the message would result in harm to him, but needed to deliver it anyway for God’s purpose. We know Paul was in the crowd and who knows who else saw his love and had a later awakening. Please pray that we and our friends love our friends enough to follow God’s nudge when he wants us to speak the truth in love. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt, saying to Aaron, ‘Make for us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who led us out from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ And they made a calf in those days, and offered a sacrifice to the idol and were rejoicing in the works of their hands.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:39-41‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.7.39-41.esv
All,
This stands out because it’s so human to worship idols. We want to control our world and “idols” give us that ability. Whether the idol is money, job, kids, reputation, etc., we are tempted to put our hope in them instead of God. God knows this and still loves us. We know deep down these earthly things do not give us control, but we want to believe the lie of the great con man. Please pray that we and our friends seek first the Kingdom of God (Matt 6:33). God is waiting and actively seeking us. Please pray for the men contemplating CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.6.7.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.” Obedient to the faith? I love how when they mention a follower of Christ, they were obedient or a disciple. Are we disciples trying to obey in all areas of our lives or do we still have areas in our lives that we don’t let Christ in? Do we trust God to let Him lord over all areas of our lives? Do we believe God ultimately wants what’s BEST for us and obeying Him enables that? Please pray that we and our friends are disciplined in every area of our lives today by obeying God. Please pray for the men that are considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:27-31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.5.27-31.esv
All,
This stands out because Peter and the apostles say, “to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.” The people felt “judged”, but the apostles motivation was liberation through repentance. Satan will stir hatred towards God’s Word and His people to keep others in bondage. Repentance takes away the chains, but people are deceived into thinking the motivation is to look down upon or judge. Please pray that we and our friends believe God today and repent and walk with Him. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.”‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:14-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.5.14-16.esv
All,
This stands out because Peter couldn’t envision this when he denied Christ three times. God has plans for all of us (Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you…”). If God prompts us to do something, He will provide the power to do it. Our part is to trust and obey. Please pray that we and our friends trust God so much that we obey Him. Please pray for the men considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness,”‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:27-29‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.4.27-29.esv
All,
This stands out because of the Apostles’ perspective of their times. They knew God had a plan for Jesus to die the way He did and be resurrected. Are we ok when God’s plan causes harm in our life? Can we still speak His Word with boldness? Please pray that we and our friends know Romans 8:28, “and we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Please pray for the men that are considering CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.””‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:17-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/act.4.17-20.esv
All,
This stands out because it is frowned upon now to bring Jesus in the conversation outside of a Bible study environment. Christians are not being persecuted in Atlanta for doing it, but people are concerned with making someone else uncomfortable. Satan doesn’t care about the motivation as long as non-Christians do not hear about what Christ has done for a Christian. Please pray that we and our friends follow the nudge of God and obey Him when we know a friend is in need. Please pray for the men that are considering CLC.
