Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because it’s one of my favorite verses that we memorize(this is the ESV version). This verse along with Romans 8:28 gives me a bigger perspective during times of momentary affliction. It gives me peace that God uses those times for a greater purpose that He has for us. Please pray that we and our friends see the good and bad moments through the eternal lens of God. Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God,”‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/2co.3.4-5.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “but our sufficiency is from God,”. It’s easy to get overwhelmed at times at the opportunities God puts on our hearts, but He also will give us the ability to accomplish His task as we need it. This is tough because it requires trust and time with God. However, while it is tough, it can also be where your true joy comes and give you abundant life. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s purpose today and trust in His power. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18 at the Georgian Club.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:5-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because it’s so important to know the whole Bible when reading it. There is a section in 1 Corinthians where Paul said to kick a guy out of the church. Some believe that this verse is speaking about the person that was kicked out and needs forgiveness and comfort now. Every situation of sin needs to be dealt with according to the purpose of God and it needs prayer to reveal what that is. Please pray that we and our friends find that perfect balance of truth in love that only comes from Christ. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:7-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.16.7-9.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” We all have an opportunity in front of us for effective work in Christ today. We know also that spiritual warfare is very real and there will be adversaries to anything that is God’s purpose. If we lean on our own power, it will be difficult to impossible, but we have the power of the Holy Spirit with us to empower us to do the effective work we have in front of us. Please pray that we and our friends spend time with God today and ask Him to empower us today for His purpose. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:50-52‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.15.50-52.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.” Do we believe this could happen today? Paul starts out with “Behold” with a “!” as if he really wants to get our attention of what he is saying. Obviously Christ could come today. Please pray that we and our friends spend our time with Christ this morning whether He comes back for the world or not. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.15.1-5.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures”. This reminds me of a lesson Adam Pannell gave. Christ died, buried, raised according to the Scriptures. If we believe that, we are saved. If we believe that, do we believe and trust Jesus or just that He died for our sins. Please pray that we and our friends believe Jesus and ask ourselves if we trust Him to be transformed by Him. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.14.33.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, ““For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” Many times a decision is hard to make because we either don’t have enough information or the information we have is not clear. I love this verse because we are tempted to let confusion linger instead of getting discernment and moving forward. When it’s God purpose, there is peace behind the decision not confusion. Please pray that we seek discernment and clarity through prayer, the Bible and wise counsel in the areas of our lives that are in a state of confusion today. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.14.20.esv
All,
This stands out because thinking is where the battle is won with Who we trust. Actions will follow our thoughts and if our thoughts are about hope and trust in Christ, our actions will follow. Please pray that we and our friends settle our trust matters in our mind today before making decisions. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.13.1-3.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “but have not love, I gain nothing.” We can do many things in the power of Christ and according to His purpose, but if it lacks love, it’s nothing. I get caught up in a result of a pursuit and can easily forget the purpose is God’s love. Please pray that we and our friends put the Love of God and neighbor before ourselves today. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:29-32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1co.11.29-32.esv
All,
This stands out because Paul says, “But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.” In Ken Boa’s morning affirmations, there is a part where we ask the Holy Spirit to “search our hearts and reveal any areas of unconfessed sin”. It’s amazing what the Holy Spirit will reveal to us when we really want to know. While it may be convicting and painful at the time, it liberates us from the sin we have become accustomed to and opens the doors to abundant life. Please pray that we and our friends ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts today. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and fundraising breakfast with Bill Curry on 2/18.
Pardon the late post as I’m on a Boy Scout camping trip w Will and just got a spot to write.
