Daily CLC Prayer verse

“O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because David says, “speaks truth in his heart.” Augustine said, “Thou hast formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in thee.” As we know God, we know truth and we can rest in that truth. It’s tempting to want certain things to be truth, but only God is truth and we will only find true rest there. Please pray that we and our friends seek God with ALL of our heart today. Please pray for the CLC Cobb breakfast on June 15th. Also, a big THANK YOU to Jim Murphy for donating his family’s minivan to Carla Miles!!!

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.”‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/gen.12.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “So Abram went, as the Lord had told him”. Abram obeyed God. He left his family and all he knew when God said “go”. Has God given you a vision that required a difficult first step to “go”? Is there something keeping your from going? Please pray that we and our friends listen to God today and “go” when He says “go”. Please pray for the CLC Cobb breakfast at Marietta Diner on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number like the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. And all these kings joined their forces and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.” So Joshua and all his warriors came suddenly against them by the waters of Merom and fell upon them.”‭‭Joshua‬ ‭11:4-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.11.4-7.esv
All,
This stands out because God says, “Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel.” Once again, God told Joshua not to be afraid and Joshua believed God and also obeyed God to destroy all the enemies. Do you have any thing in your life that God wants you to eliminate completely? Any habits that are not beneficial to God or glorify Him? Please pray that we and our friends glorify God today in all our actions. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands. Not a man of them shall stand before you.”
So Joshua struck the whole land, the hill country and the Negeb and the lowland and the slopes, and all their kings. He left none remaining, but devoted to destruction all that breathed, just as the Lord God of Israel commanded. And Joshua struck them from Kadesh-barnea as far as Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, as far as Gibeon. And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel. Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭10:8, 40-43‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.10.8,40-43.esv
All,
This stands out because God said, “Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands.” Joshua went on to conquer the whole land. It was also important to God to “leave none remaining” and Joshua did as God commanded. Has God given you a vision for the future? Please pray that we and our friends trust God and also obey Him in the process. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the Lord. And Joshua made peace with them and made a covenant with them, to let them live, and the leaders of the congregation swore to them. At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors and that they lived among them.”‭‭Joshua‬ ‭9:14-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.9.14-16.esv
All,
This stands out because Joshua says, “but did not ask counsel from the Lord.” God has seen the outcome of all our decisions. He also wants the best for us. It would be wise for us to seek His counsel in all our decisions. Especially the ones that seem so easy as it could be a set up like the story today. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s counsel today in all our decisions. Please pray for the Cobb county CLC breakfast on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭8:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.8.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him”. I need to remind myself often who God is. He created all of this. He has seen this day and he has seen 30 years from now. We get to be in relationship with a God that is all-knowing, all-powerful and also loves us very much. Please pray that we and our friends are grateful for this relationship today. Please pray for all the service men and women who have died defending our great country!

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For the people of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord; the Lord swore to them that he would not let them see the land that the Lord had sworn to their fathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey. So it was their children, whom he raised up in their place, that Joshua circumcised. For they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.”‭‭Joshua‬ ‭5:6-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.5.6-7.esv
All,
This stands out because Joshua says, “the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord.” These people saw the Red Sea part, but then later didn’t trust God about the land He gave them. Do you ever forget how powerful God is? Do you let fear prevent you from being a part of God’s purpose? Please pray that we and our friends obey God today and trust Him in the challenges we face. Please pray for Debbie and Makenna Wernowsky.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.””‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:3-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/gen.4.3-7.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions.” Are we bringing God our best? Are we so thankful that we can’t wait to give him the best we have? Cain still gave, but not his BEST. Are you working today as working for the Lord or man (Col 3:23)? Please pray that we and our friends have a heart of gratitude today and give God our best in whatever we do. Please pray for the Cobb county CLC breakfast on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.”‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:1-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/gen.3.1-7.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.” Do you ever rationalize a decision that’s is in complete conflict of God’s commandment? Eve convinced herself that the serpent was right and God didn’t want the best for her. Adam didn’t step in either and sat idly beside her. Please pray that we and our friends don’t fall into temptation to rationalize away sin and also not to abdicate our responsibility to help our friends when they are tempted. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as spies, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lodged there.
Before the men lay down, she came up to them on the roof and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭2:1, 8-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.2.1,8-10.esv
All,
This stands out because Rahab says, “For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt”. Rahab wasn’t trained in Judaism, but yet knew of God and wanted to know God. Many people have preconceived notions of Christians, but you may be the only Christian someone gets to know. Please pray that we and our friends take courage in God today. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast on June 15.
