Daily CLC Prayer verse

“”Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, of tent-dwelling women most blessed. He asked for water and she gave him milk; she brought him curds in a noble’s bowl. She sent her hand to the tent peg and her right hand to the workmen’s mallet; she struck Sisera; she crushed his head; she shattered and pierced his temple. Between her feet he sank, he fell, he lay still; between her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell—dead.”‭‭Judges‬ ‭5:24-27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the writer of Judges says, “Most blessed of women be Jael”. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”(Prov 1:7). Jael obeyed God when it was very difficult to do so. She had the strength to obey in a time when the leaders allowed evil in the camp. I also love how the Bible recalls stories of strong women doing God’s will. Please pray that we and our friends obey God today and leave the consequences to Him (Charles Stanley). Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel. And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals. And they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. They went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down to them. And they provoked the Lord to anger. They abandoned the Lord and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.”‭‭Judges‬ ‭2:10-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the author of Judges says, “And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.” God cares very deeply that we talk about Him with our children all the time. He knows that a generation who doesn’t know Him will put their trust in other things and it will hurt them. How do you discuss God with your children? St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the Gospel at all times, occasionally use words”. Please pray that we and our friends will bring up a generation who loves God and trusts Him completely and it helps if we love Him and trust Him completely first. Please pray for Tyson’s group. We had a great breakfast yesterday. Thanks for all your prayers!

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭25:3-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.25.3-5.
All,
This’s stands out because David says, “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.” Have you asked God to “teach you His paths” today? Do you think His purpose for today differs from your purpose? Please pray that we and our friends are about God’s purpose today and we ask Him. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast this morning.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“I gave you a land on which you had not labored and cities that you had not built, and you dwell in them. You eat the fruit of vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant.’ “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.””‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:13-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/jos.24.13-15.esv
All,
This stands out because Joshua says, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Do you need to be reminded how great God has been to you? Do you think you gave yourself the intelligence you have or the parents that raised you? We should all be so grateful for so many things everyday. It’s tempting to serve the blessings God has given us and forget about God. Please pray that we reflect today who God is and how grateful we are. Please pray for the CLC Cobb breakfast tomorrow fromm7:15-8:30 at the Marietta Diner.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.23.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Are you at rest? Are you pursuing God’s purpose or your purpose. They could be the same, but they could also be different. He has a path of righteousness for His purpose. Please pray that we and our friends walk His path for His purpose. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast on Thursday at Marietta Diner.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham said, “God will provide for himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they went both of them together. When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.””‭‭Genesis‬ ‭22:7-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/gen.22.7-12.esv
All,
This stands out because the angel of the Lord says, “for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” This amazes me every time I read it. What turmoil Abraham went through over this decision of obedience. However he trusted God had a plan in all of this throughout. Is God convicting you of a idol today? Is there anything you wouldn’t give to God if He asked? Please pray that we and our friends love God with ALL our heart. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast gathering this Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:7-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.19.7-11.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart”. When we abide in Christ, there is joy. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit and is available in all circumstances. When can create happiness by creating a circumstance, but it is fleeting. However, joy is available all the time when we are walking with God. Please pray that we and our friends abide in Christ today. Please pray for the CLC Cobb breakfast this Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?— the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:30-34‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.18.30-34.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true”. David was at the end of his rope when Saul’s army was close to defeating him, but David perseveres and is very grateful for what God did. I am tempted to fall into despair when I don’t see how I can get myself out of a situation. At the moment I finally surrender my will to God’s will, it’s amazing how something happens that totally changes my perspective. Please pray that we and our friends rely on God’s word and His promises in times of trouble and surrender our will to His. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, “Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.”‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/gen.17.1-6.esv
All,
This stands out because God said, “Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.” Abraham was 99 years old now and Sarah was 90 and barren. God seems to be promising the impossible to Abraham. Does some of God’s promises in the Bible seem impossible to you? Does, “be joyful always”, or “do not worry”, or “trust in the Lord with ALL your heart” seem impossible to you? Do we believe He has the power to enable us to live these promises? Please pray that we and our friends ask God for His power to enable us to live in His promises today. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast meeting on June 15th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.16.1-3.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”” Can we do anything “good” apart from the Lord? We may not necessarily be doing anything bad, but if it is apart from the Lord, is it good? God has a purpose for our lives today and we can chose to produce wheat, hay and straw or we can produce gold and silver. One is outside of God’s purpose and one is in Gods purpose. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s purpose today and obey. Please pray for the Cobb CLC breakfast on June 15th at Marietta Diner.
