Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And David said to Saul, “Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘Behold, David seeks your harm’? Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave. And some told me to kill you, but I spared you. I said, ‘I will not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord ‘s anointed.’ See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it. May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭24:9-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because David says, “May the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you.” Do we trust that God has a plan when another plan seems the way to go? David could have solved his problems by killing Saul and would have felt ok in doing so, but God didn’t command him to kill Saul. Please pray that we and our friends seek God today and serve His purpose. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now they told David, “Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are robbing the threshing floors.” Therefore David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines and save Keilah.” But David’s men said to him, “Behold, we are afraid here in Judah; how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?” Then David inquired of the Lord again. And the Lord answered him, “Arise, go down to Keilah, for I will give the Philistines into your hand.” And David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines and brought away their livestock and struck them with a great blow. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭23:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.23.1-5.esv
All,
This stands out because David inquired of the Lord several times and God said to fight. In the very next section, God says to flee. How do we know what God wants us to do unless we inquire of Him. He wants us to handle different situations in unique ways. Please pray that we and our friends inquire of God today with the troubles we are facing. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social gathering at Capital City Club from 6-8pm on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭71:14-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.71.14-19.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.” Are you grateful for “deeds of salvation all the day”? Being grateful for God continually makes for a great day. There are many things that are bad on which we can focus, but there is always something for which to be thankful. No matter what happens today, Christ died for your sins and offers you eternal life. Please pray that we and our friends are grateful today. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The next day Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from morning till evening. When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning till evening?” And Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to inquire of God; when they have a dispute, they come to me and I decide between one person and another, and I make them know the statutes of God and his laws.” Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good. You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to do it alone. Now obey my voice; I will give you advice, and God be with you! You shall represent the people before God and bring their cases to God, and you shall warn them about the statutes and the laws, and make them know the way in which they must walk and what they must do. Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens. And let them judge the people at all times. Every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves. So it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you. If you do this, God will direct you, you will be able to endure, and all this people also will go to their place in peace.””‭‭Exodus‬ ‭18:13-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.18.13-23.esv
All,
This stands out because Jethro said, “look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.” How many people do you know live up to this standard? Do you? Leaders should have this standard. If they do not, trouble is not far behind. Please pray that we and our friends ask God to transform us into these type of leaders. Please pray for our nations leaders. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social gathering on 8/10 from 6-8pm.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“All the congregation of the people of Israel moved on from the wilderness of Sin by stages, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?” But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses and said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” So Moses cried to the Lord, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me.””‭‭Exodus‬ ‭17:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.17.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because the people said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” I have a bad habit of complaining and God convicts me of it regularly. The people have been delivered from slavery, brought through the Red Sea and they still see themselves as victims. Are you a victim at times? Are you entitled to certain things? The best cure for times of victimhood is to think of for what we are grateful in that moment. Please pray that we and our friends stop regularly today and thank God for His many blessings. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th from 6-8pm at Capital City Club.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When the words that David spoke were heard, they repeated them before Saul, and he sent for him. And David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him, for you are but a youth, and he has been a man of war from his youth.” But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb from the flock, I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.” And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!””‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:31-37‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.17.31-37.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “Your servant used to keep sheep for his father. And when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb from the flock, I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth.” David fought lions and bears and knew God was with him, so he was not fearful of Goliath. No one wants a fight with lions or bears, but the fight may be to prepare you for a bigger fight later and build your trust in God. Please pray that we and our friends seek Gods purpose in today’s events. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.” And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” And the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ And invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do. And you shall anoint for me him whom I declare to you.” Samuel did what the Lord commanded and came to Bethlehem. The elders of the city came to meet him trembling and said, “Do you come peaceably?” And he said, “Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” And he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.16.1-5.esv
All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “I have provided for myself a king among his sons.” Did David train to be a king? God says He provided a king. Was David tending sheep and setting goals to be king one day? David spent many nights alone w God and God transformed him. Can you see God’s purpose for your life? Please pray that we and our friends spend time alone with God as He prepares us for His purpose. Please pray for Hunter’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt? Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.”‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:10-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.14.10-16.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.” Do you need courage today? Is there a task before you that is creating anxiety or fear? Are you depending on yourself or God? Are you depending on the Creator or something He created? Please pray that we and our friends put ALL our hope in God. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And when you saw that Nahash the king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when the Lord your God was your king. And now behold the king whom you have chosen, for whom you have asked; behold, the Lord has set a king over you. If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well. But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you and your king.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭12:12-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.12.12-15.esv
All,
This stands out because Samuel says, “If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well.” Do you think God thinks our country does this? Are you using your influence to move us closer to this? Please pray that we and our friends help those around us get to know Christ on a more personal level. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then the people said to Samuel, “Who is it that said, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ Bring the men, that we may put them to death.” But Saul said, “Not a man shall be put to death this day, for today the Lord has worked salvation in Israel.” Then Samuel said to the people, “Come, let us go to Gilgal and there renew the kingdom.” So all the people went to Gilgal, and there they made Saul king before the Lord in Gilgal. There they sacrificed peace offerings before the Lord, and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭11:12-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.11.12-15.esv
All,
This stands out because Saul says, “today the Lord has worked salvation in Israel.” God appointed Saul to lead Israel and gave him the ability to lead. Has God nudged you to lead in a certain area? Do you believe God will enable you to do whatever is needed to lead? Please pray that we and our friends answer God’s call today and lead people to Him. Please pray for Hunter’s group.
