Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. Now when these signs meet you, do what your hand finds to do, for God is with you. Then go down before me to Gilgal. And behold, I am coming down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do.” When he turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day. When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them. And when all who knew him previously saw how he prophesied with the prophets, the people said to one another, “What has come over the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?””‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭10:6-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Samuel says, “Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.” Did Saul change himself or did God change him? Do you make yourself better or does God transform your heart? Have you asked Him to make you more Christlike today? Please pray that we and our friends allow God to transform us today. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When they came to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come, let us go back, lest my father cease to care about the donkeys and become anxious about us.” But he said to him, “Behold, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor; all that he says comes true. So now let us go there. Perhaps he can tell us the way we should go.”
Now the day before Saul came, the Lord had revealed to Samuel: “Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have seen my people, because their cry has come to me.” When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him, “Here is the man of whom I spoke to you! He it is who shall restrain my people.””

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭9:5-6, 15-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel.” We know that God has a purpose for our lives and He has created the path to that purpose. However, we are to do our part by trusting Him daily and walking on that path. Has God put anything on your heart that you are still in hesitation? Can today be the day you decide to take the first step? Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s purpose today and take the first step. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you. Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.””‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭8:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.8.6-9.esv
All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “but they have rejected me from being king over them”. We are tempted to solve all our problems with things we can control. Israel wanted a king to fight its battles as opposed to putting God first. When they put God first, He took care of them. However, when they worshipped idols, trouble would occur and they looked for a king to fight their battles. Please pray that we and our friends put ALL our trust in God and not ourselves, idols, money or government, etc. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.'” The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A staff.” And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it. But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”—so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand— “that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.””‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.4.1-5.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”—so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand”. Is anything impossible wth God? How wonderful is it to remember the power of God. It’s so easy to be so concerned with earthly things that we forget God just speaks to create universes. Please pray that we and our friends spend time with God today until we really get how much control He has. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.””‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3:7-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.3.7-12.esv
All,
This stands out because God says, “But I will be with you”. God gives Moses a seemingly IMPOSSIBLE task to the person who seems far removed from the situation. Have you ever been in a impossible situation and seemed ill-equipped to solve it? Do you think you need money or talent or position to solve it? God tells Moses, “But I will be with you”. I love it. Please pray that we and our friends look at our situations today and know that God has a purpose and He will be with us. Please pray for Tyson’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, saying, “See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and sought refuge in his own destruction!” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.52.6-9.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.” Is it easier to trust in abundance of riches or the love of God. If your like me, you want both. However, God sees how we shoot ourselves in the foot if we trust in anything but Him exclusively. It’s His first commandment. Jesus speaks about money more than prayer because he knows how tempting it is to put our trust in it. Please pray that we and our friends step back and honestly ask ourselves where trusting riches ranks in where we put our trust. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:8-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/psa.51.8-13.esv

All,

This stands out because David says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Do we create a clean heart or God? If God does it, what is our part? Can we abide in Him? Can we obey Him? He will convict us and we can chose to obey. Please pray that we and our friends ask God to “Create in me a clean heart” today. Please pray for Hunter’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips? For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭50:13-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.50.13-17.esv
All,
This stands out because Asaph says, “Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving”. For what are you thankful today? Have you told God? Thankfulness takes our mind off ourselves and makes God the center. Tell God 5 things you for which you are thankful right now and notice how your perspective changes immediately. Please pray that we and our friends are thankful today. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social on August 10th at Capital City club.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now Naomi had a relative of her husband’s, a worthy man of the clan of Elimelech, whose name was Boaz. And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” So she set out and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers, and she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the clan of Elimelech.”‭‭Ruth‬ ‭2:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/rut.2.1-3.esv
All,
This stands out because Ruth says, “Let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain”. God provides in mysterious ways. Ruth didn’t wait for someone to bring her wheat. She gleaned the fields. Does God have a blessing that He wants to give you? Is there a action He wants you to take? Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s purpose today and obey by taking the next step. Please pray for Hunters group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!””‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:6-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.46.6-10.esv
All,
This stands out because God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” How often do we need to remind ourselves of the God we serve? God spoke and the earth was created. God sees the next 10,000 years as clearly as He sees the present moment. He created us to be in relationship with Him. Please pray that we and our friends take time today to “Be still, and know that I am God”. Please pray for the Buckhead CLC social on August 10th.
