Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now, therefore, thus you shall say to my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel. And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you. And I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth. And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, so that they may dwell in their own place and be disturbed no more. And violent men shall afflict them no more, as formerly, from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house.”‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭7:8-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel”. God can do anything in our lives. We often don’t see the grand vision while we are living day to day, but God wants to bless us for eternity and give us abundant life. Are you willing to let go of your self in order to receive God’s life for you? Please pray that we and our friends keep a loose grip on our wants and stay focused on God’s purpose. Please pray for Hollis Younger as she receives test results from cancer today.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭86:10-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.86.10-12.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth”. How do we know the truth? Books, friends, news? God gives us wisdom and understanding to know truth. There are many who claim to know the truth, but is it a worldly truth or Godly truth? Please pray that we and our friends seek truth from God and walk according to His purpose. Please pray for Stacey Kessler.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the Philistines came up yet again and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. And when David inquired of the Lord, he said, “You shall not go up; go around to their rear, and come against them opposite the balsam trees. And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.” And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba to Gezer.”‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭5:22-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/2sa.5.22-25.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer says, “And when David inquired of the Lord”. David continues to inquire of the Lord. Do you have a particular decision or action that dwells in your mind? Have you specifically asked God about this and waited in silence to get a answer? When I do this, I personally don’t get verbal answers, but I will get thoughts in my head that I don’t think come from me. If those thoughts line up with the Word of God, I sense peace to move forward. Please pray that we and our friends inquire of the Lord today and listen and then obey. Please pray for Kristen Sykes.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” So Aaron said to them, “Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord.” And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”‭‭Exodus‬ ‭32:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the people say, “Up, make us gods who shall go before us.” How often do we look to other “gods” when God doesn’t give us what we want when we want it? Do we force a issue by our own power? Do we complain? Do we look to pleasure or money? Please pray that we and our friends look to God always as only He can give lasting Joy. Please pray for Pete Jones.
The Buckhead CLC social was a a lot of fun last night and many new men were there. Thank for your prayers.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The Lord said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft. And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you: the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furnishings of the tent,”‭‭Exodus‬ ‭31:1-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/exo.31.1-7.esv
All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.” We know God created all of us for a purpose and He gave us unique gifts to accomplish that purpose. Do we spend time with God to understand our gifts and purpose or try in our power to do certain things? Please pray that we and our friends tap into what God has planned for us. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social gathering tonight at Capital City Club in Brookhaven from 6-8pm.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved! You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River. Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭80:7-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.80.7-12.esv
All,
This stands out because Asaph says, “You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.” God does the impossible and enables us to be a part of His purpose. He created us and wants a relationship with us. Are we focused on Him or His creation? Please pray that we and our friends seek to be a part of what God is doing today. Please pray for THE CLC Buckhead social gathering at Capital City Club tomorrow from 6-8pm.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And when David and his men came to the city, they found it burned with fire, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep. David’s two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel. And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue after this band? Shall I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake and shall surely rescue.””‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30:3-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.30.3-8.esv
All,
This stands out because the author says, “But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” This seems impossible. David’s life is turned upside down, but he knows the only real strength is from God. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s strength is our trials today. Please pray for the CLC Buckhead social gathering on Thursday at Capital City Club from 6-8pm.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭78:5-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.78.5-8.esv
All,
This stands out because Asaph says, “which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them”. Throughout the Bible, God commands the fathers to teach the children about Him or they will start to serve themselves and idols. Most generations do not teach the next and the people start worshipping idols. Since we are built to worship God, we will find something to worship if we deny God. Please pray that we and our friends teach the next generation about God. Please pray for Len Sykes’ wife, Kristen.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“So David and Abishai went to the army by night. And there lay Saul sleeping within the encampment, with his spear stuck in the ground at his head, and Abner and the army lay around him. Then Abishai said to David, “God has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice.” But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand against the Lord ‘s anointed and be guiltless?” And David said, “As the Lord lives, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish. The Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord ‘s anointed. But take now the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let us go.” So David took the spear and the jar of water from Saul’s head, and they went away. No man saw it or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from the Lord had fallen upon them.”‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭26:7-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1sa.26.7-12.esv
All,
This stands out because David says, “The Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord ‘s anointed. But take now the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let us go.” Once again David spares Saul’s life when he had good reason to take it. David is listening to God’s purpose as opposed to his own. Are there decisions today that seem right to you, but may not be God’s purpose? Do you trust yourself more than God? Please pray that we and our friends seek first to please God and trust in His outcome. Please pray for Stacey Kessler as she is fighting a brain tumor.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever? Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the fold of your garment and destroy them! Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters. You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. You split open springs and brooks; you dried up ever-flowing streams. Yours is the day, yours also the night; you have established the heavenly lights and the sun. You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth; you have made summer and winter. Remember this, O Lord, how the enemy scoffs, and a foolish people reviles your name.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭74:10-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.74.10-18.esv
All,
This stands out because Asaph says, “Yours is the day, yours also the night; you have established the heavenly lights and the sun. You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth; you have made summer and winter.” Asaph reminds himself who God is while he is going through a trial. I have to remind myself daily of the power of God. I forget that God sees the eternal, while I focus on the temporal. God is always working a plan for salvation. Please pray that we and our friends take a minute and remind ourselves of the power of God. Please pray for Len and Kristen Sykes as Kristen needs physical healing from continuous pain.
