Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Christ wants a relationship with us and through our relationship with him, all other relationships are strengthened. It sometimes seems tempting to leave Christ out of a situation, but that only shoots ourselves in the foot. He wants to “give us life to the full” and He sees and knows things that we have no idea of. Please pray that we and our friends seek Christ in every action today. Please pray for Jonnell, Cedric and Devon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.” (‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭15-16‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of the need to be in God’s Word daily and to know the authority of the Bible. Since some of the Bible is hard to understand, we should seek to understand them more and not be tempted to through those parts out. Please pray that we and our friends spend time reading The Bible today and appreciate God’s presence. Please pray for Steven and Cheever’s group forming.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” (‭2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because of how easily this can happen when Christians do not know the Bible themselves. I got a chance to see Jonnell Wallace preach last Sunday and he spoke of the importance of Christians to know the Bible so they will not fall for false teaching. God wants to be involved in our lives and He will guide us as we spend time with Him in prayer and reading His Word. Please pray that we and our friends read His Word today. Please pray for the wives of the men in CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” (‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3-4‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Peter walks us along a path here. He says that Christ’s power HAS granted us ALL things that pertain to LIFE and GODLINESS. These are available through the knowledge of Christ and His promises. Our faith in CHRIST and HIS PROMISES enable us to “become partakers”. Please pray that we and our friends put our faith and trust in Christ and his promises today and not be tempted to put it in the things of the world. Please pray for all the current CLC groups that are meeting.

Daily CLC Prayer verse and vision

“shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭2-4‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because this is the main reason I think CLC is great for men to grow as leaders in the Kingdom of God. We also talked about it this morning in our CLC. We have been given a great opportunity and I can only hope that we will take it. Please pray that we “shepherd” the flock God has given us. Please pray for Cheever and Steven’s group.

The verse and our discussion this morning reminded me of a vision God gave me for CLC when I first became City Director. I have copied it below:

“Imagine a city 30 years from now with leaders who have been trained through CLC. They work unto The Lord, not for man. They make decisions that are the best for the city according to God, not just a few who are owed favors. They make decisions w a eternal perspective not just a temporal. Currently all we do is complain about leaders and feel completely helpless. These leaders make decisions that only serve themselves. They may have started good, but were influenced by the bad system or just the power they have. Only a leader focused on God can handle that kind of pressure and not succumb to all the temptations of power. Where do you find these leaders? How do those leaders get trained? They are walking with you now or you may be one of them. I know no better way to accomplish anything than by starting with a good foundation as the wise builder. If Christ is not in whatever you do, it is done in vain. Therefore, I think CLC is the answer. It’s not a quick fix, but its the only solution. It will take years and a lot of relationships. God loves relationships and its the main tenant of CLC. One by one as men graduate from CLC, they are a changed man that is eternally focused while doing Gods will in the temporal. They are not afraid to share their belief with other like-minded men. Wouldn’t it be great if the people who made decisions for your daily life were graduates of CLC? Who wants to be a part of changing our city into something you will be proud of? It will take a lot of little steps, but each step will be guided by Christ.

It’s not just the leaders in the spotlight. It’s the leaders of businesses and churches that influence the people who are looking for good leaders. Just like kids need a good example of what a real man is or else they settle for less than they deserve. Our city needs to see good examples of true Godly leadership or else they will settle for whoever tells them what they want to hear. If your like me, you look for good leadership and will pay a dear price to make it happen. Please join me in this campaign to take our city back by recruiting one candidate for CLC at a time.

I believe we will be amazed with what God will do with a few good men. Are you one of those men? What’s your role in growing CLC? Is it recruiting men? Is it facilitating men? Is it encouraging men? Is it funding CLC financially? This a great way to make a impact for the Kingdom of God. Wouldn’t you want this to be part of the conversation on judgement day? I do. Please join me. Let me know what part you want to play today. I see no other way boys. Lets get after this!!!!!

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭8-9‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Peter says,”but on the contrary, bless…”.  I often judge those who are attacking other Christians or Christian beliefs. While it may be ok to judge without condemnation, I creep into the condemnation camp pretty quick. However, I am not quick to “bless”. Shouldn’t it be the opposite?  Please pray that we and our friends have a tender heart and pray for those who mean harm. Please pray for Devon, Cedric and Jonnell’s information meeting this morning at 8:00.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭2-3‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because the more time we spend with God, the more time we want to spend with God. God “makes us lie down in green pastures”. He helps us to realize that He is in control and we can trust Him. Please pray that we and our friends “pray continuously” all day. Please pray for Cedric, Devon and Jonnell’s meeting tomorrow morning.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3-5‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because Peter says we “are being guarded through faith”. How many times do we tell our kids to do something that they don’t understand, but it protects them?  God sees all and the only way we can be protected is by obeying Him when we don’t know why. Please pray that we and our friends obey God today knowing He loves us and protects us. Please pray for Doug and Brandon’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.” (‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭1-3‬ ESV)

All,

This sticks out because we are all “rich” and need to realize the temptations that come with being “rich”. We are in Williamsburg for spring break this week and it’s amazing how we ALL live better than the Governor did then. The fact we have a shower(hot or cold,) decent food, drinkable water, electricity, AC, ability to listen to music anytime are all something the “very rich” didn’t have 250 years ago. Please pray that we and our friends are grateful to God today for these conveniences and use the extra time to glorify Him, not gain more stuff that “will corrode”. Please pray for Jeremy and Gary’s group.
