Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah put out his hand to take hold of the ark, for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark, and he died there before God. And David was angry because the Lord had broken out against Uzzah. And that place is called Perez-uzza to this day. And David was afraid of God that day, and he said, “How can I bring the ark of God home to me?” So David did not take the ark home into the city of David, but took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. And the ark of God remained with the household of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that he had.”‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭13:9-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the writer says, “and he struck him down because he put out his hand to the ark, and he died there before God.” Why did God strike Uzzah for trying to do the right thing? Was it disobedience? I don’t know. I do know that God has a purpose in ALL things though and this will be one of those questions I ask Him. Please pray that we and our friends do not try to understand God as much as we know that His ways are His ways and our ways are our ways. Please pray for Will Creech to do his best in basketball tryouts today for his school☺️.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel. Likewise, all the rest of Israel were of a single mind to make David king. And they were there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers had made preparation for them. And also their relatives, from as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, came bringing food on donkeys and on camels and on mules and on oxen, abundant provisions of flour, cakes of figs, clusters of raisins, and wine and oil, oxen and sheep, for there was joy in Israel.”‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭12:38-40‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ch.12.38-40.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer says, “All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel”. Why did these men of valor have a “whole heart” to make David king? Could they see that David was man after God’s own heart? We know he wasn’t close to perfect and made many human mistakes, but he always turned towards God instead of away from Him. Please pray that we and our friends always turn towards God and trust Him. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now these are the chiefs of David’s mighty men, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel. This is an account of David’s mighty men: Jashobeam, a Hachmonite, was chief of the three. He wielded his spear against 300 whom he killed at one time. And next to him among the three mighty men was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite. He was with David at Pas-dammim when the Philistines were gathered there for battle. There was a plot of ground full of barley, and the men fled from the Philistines. But he took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it and killed the Philistines. And the Lord saved them by a great victory.”‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭11:10-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ch.11.10-14.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer says, “And the Lord saved them by a great victory.” Were David’s “mighty men” mighty because of their own strength or God’s strength? What part of their successes were of them and what part were of God? God asks us to Trust Him and Do Our Best. Please pray that we and our friends trust God today and be good stewards of the gifts He has given us. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“”Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:4-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/deu.6.4-9.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says a CLC memory verse, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Do your children know God through lessons or through seeing you live your Faith in God daily? Have you prayed with them about their issues? Are they noticing how God answers their prayers? Please pray that we and our friends are walking with our children toward God today. Please pray for CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And you said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live. Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, we shall die. For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of fire as we have, and has still lived? Go near and hear all that the Lord our God will say, and speak to us all that the Lord our God will speak to you, and we will hear and do it.’ “And the Lord heard your words, when you spoke to me. And the Lord said to me, ‘I have heard the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken. Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:24-29‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/deu.5.24-29.esv
All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!” Does this mean that we will earn the right for things to go well if we obey God? Or does it mean He created us and knows what is best for us and gives us commandments in order for us to be a part of His purpose? The First puts us in control of Him and the second keeps Him as Lord over us. Please pray that we and our friends know that God loves us and wants the best for us eternally. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today? “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children—”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:7-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/deu.4.7-9.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “Make them known to your children and your children’s children—“. How are we making God known to our children and our children’s children? Is someone else teaching them and walking them through the Bible or are you? Do they see you obeying what God says or just hear your words? We have a generation of kids who are checking out of the God of the Bible for another god that the world promotes. How will that change without us? What happens to your children? Please pray that we and our friends are showing the love of Christ and building relationships with people who do not know Christ. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“”Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan. And Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand. And you shall do to him as you did to Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.’ So the Lord our God gave into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people, and we struck him down until he had no survivor left.”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭3:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/deu.3.1-3.esv
All,
This stands out because the Lord says, “Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand.” Do you fear anything or anyone? Do you fear a certain outcome? Have you asked God about this thing, person or outcome? Don Harp told me to do three things when making a decision: Pray about it, read the Bible and seek wise counsel. Please pray that we and our friends believe God today and do our best in His purpose. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov.28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Do not contend with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.
And when you approach the territory of the people of Ammon, do not harass them or contend with them, for I will not give you any of the land of the people of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot for a possession.’
‘Rise up, set out on your journey and go over the Valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession, and contend with him in battle. This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.’”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭2:5, 19, 24-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/deu.2.5,19,24-25.esv
All,
This stands out because God says, “Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land”. God clearly has a plan for the people of Israel, but they must listen to Him and also obey Him. Even though God has given them certain land, they still need to ACT and OBEY on His gift. Has God directed your thoughts to His purpose recently? Have you ACTED and OBEYED? Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s counsel and obey. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭2:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.2.1-4.esv
All,
This stands out because the psalmist says, “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed”. People in power will always be tempted to be their own god. Satan even tried to tempt Jesus in the desert after 40 days. Please pray that we and our friends can discern when agendas, etc are God-centered or man-centered. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.1.1-3.esv
All,
This stands out because the Psalmist says, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither”. How much peace is there when we realize God is above everything else? If we are tempted to place our security in something else, that something else can be taken away. God is with us always and forever. Please pray that we and our friends meditate on His law day and night. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th with Richard Simmons.
