Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.””‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:17-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Spiritual warfare is real and if we do not think it is real, we will be confused and off-course all day. Jesus acknowledges the existence of Satan and also gave power over him. Satan is more powerful than us, BUT God is more powerful than him. Please pray that we fight our battles on our knees and not on our own. Please pray for the friend that would be a good CLC co-facilitator and give me his name.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.””‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:61-62‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.9.61-62.esv
All,
This stands out because we all are tempted with something that we want “to do” before we can follow Jesus fully. That thing can be different for everyone, but it’s a idol and it plays God in our lives. Please pray that we and our friends give everything to God and enjoy the relationships, hobbies, job, etc. that He wants us to keep for His purpose. Please pray and ask God to reveal the friend of yours that would make a great co-facilitator in CLC and send me their contact information.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.9.1-2.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus “gave them” the power over demons and to cure diseases and only to the twelve. There were many people who followed Jesus at this point for what He could do for them, but Jesus empowered these twelve to “proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal”. Jesus has all power and unless He “builds the house, the laborers labor in vain”. Please pray that we and our friends spend time with Jesus today and learn His purpose for our lives today. He will empower you to do exactly what He wants you to do. Please pray for Chris and Ryan’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?””‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:23-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.8.23-25.esv
All,
This stands out because when Jesus is a part of our lives, we will go through storms and it will seem like Jesus is asleep. It will be impossible for us to be transformed if we don’t go through the storms. We know that Jesus knows all, but it may seem as if He is asleep during our trials. The opposite is true, for He knows that God has us right where He wants us (FOCUSED ON HIM). Please pray that we and our friends rely on the promises of God and keep taking those next steps in obedience today trusting God. Please pray for Jeremy and Gary’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.””‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:44, 46-47‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.7.44,46-47.esv
All,
This stands out because of the woman’s devotion to Jesus. There is a joy that only comes when I sense I have obeyed Jesus. It can’t be replicated by anything I can do on my own. This woman did what she could do and Jesus forgave her giving her “rest”. Please pray that we and our friends serve Jesus today in the unique way He calls us to serve. Please pray for Cedric, Devon, and Jonnell’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John, but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.)”‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:28-30‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.7.28-30.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.” The Pharisees and the lawyers thought they could earn their salvation. They relied on their own power and rejected Gods purpose for them. How many times do we reject God’s purpose in our lives and try to force our will in a situation? Please pray that we and our friends remember the promises of God “And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28. Please pray for Chris and Ryan’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

““For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:43-45‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.6.43-45.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “for each tree is known by its own fruit.” What fruit are we producing? The Fruit of the Spirit, other disciples, great children, great relationships? If we obey God, we will produce the fruit He wants us to produce. If we are producing bad fruit, God may not be first in our lives. Please pray that we and our friends “Seek first the Kingdom of God” Matt 6:33. Please pray for Cheever and Steven’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

““Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:22-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.6.22-23.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says people will,”revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!” I used to think that it just wasn’t “cool” to bring Jesus up at certain cocktail parties, but now I feel apprehensive to talk about such unbelievable things as planned parenthood videos in general. One of my issues is I want to please people. So I always try to be careful to make sure someone knows I care about them because what I say may be taken wrong and it would hurt them and me. Stephen Covey said,” people don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care”. Please pray that we and our friends follow the nudges of God today in love for the person. Please pray for Tyson and Donny’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:27-28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.5.27-28.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke writes, “And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.” He didn’t write that Levi thought Jesus was great. He didn’t write that Levi respected and admired Jesus. He wrote that Levi left everything, then he followed Jesus. Do we have anything that we are not leaving in order to follow Jesus? It probably isn’t your profession like Levi, but is there something you are hanging on to that is preventing you from really following Jesus? “The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I come to give you life, life to the full”(John 10:10). Please pray that we and our friends ask Jesus in prayer to reveal anything in our lives that are preventing us from following Him. Please pray for Ken and Paul’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:8-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/luk.5.8-11.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus affected Peter in a way only he would understand immediately. I’m sure Peter was proud of his skills as a fisherman, but he had exhausted his abilities to catch fish during the night and sees Jesus fill his net up instantly AFTER HE OBEYED HIM. Please pray that we and our friends obey Jesus today in the “insignificant and tiny” ways. We too may be “astonished” and realize just who Jesus is. Please pray for Jonnell, Devon and Cedric’s group.
