“And when he had been summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying: “Since through you we enjoy much peace, and since by your foresight, most excellent Felix, reforms are being made for this nation,
And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied: “Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense.”

All,
This stands out because Tertullus credits Felix with creating peace, but Paul acknowledges that he is a judge of the nation. Both men have drastically different view points of who is really in power. Paul knows that only God can create peace in a nation and the leaders of the nation are merely judges that God has placed in power. If we see the government as having more power than God, then we would be tempted to worship the government over God. Unfortunately, there are many people who have placed a higher priority on something over God. Please pray that we and our friends speak and show clearly who we put our trust in and who we deem to have the ultimate power. Please pray for your friend who doesn’t have peace in his life.
