This stands out because Jesus says, “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” They say the best way to detect counterfeit money is to know real money well. False teachers can fool people if we are not spending time with God ourselves. By spending time with God ourselves, we get encouraged by others who speak the Word and we can also discern when things don’t add up.
