“And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk.’ ” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?””John 5:9-12 ESV

All,
This stands out because Jesus told him to pick up his mat, even though the Pharisees will see it as breaking the Sabbath. Does Jesus ask us to obey Him in ways that would challenge the rules of the day? I saw Ambassador Andrew Young speak yesterday and I’m glad he “picked up his mat and walked” when Jesus nudged him to stand for Jesus in times of strife. Ambassador Young trusted Jesus many times throughout his life and he followed Jesus’ nudges time and time again. Please pray that we and our friends ask for and follow Jesus’ nudges today. Please pray for the CLC breakfast in Tenn. on 9/30.
