This stands out because Jesus says, “that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” What does “believes in him” mean? The demons who Jesus casts out know who Jesus is, but they will perish. It seems that “believes in him” means to put ALL our hope in Jesus. Only the individual knows if they truly believe in Jesus.
