Daily CLC Prayer verse

“She said to her mistress, “Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”
So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stood at the door of Elisha’s house. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored, and you shall be clean.” But Naaman was angry and went away, saying, “Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. But his servants came near and said to him, “My father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will you not do it? Has he actually said to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭5:3, 9-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Namaan says, “Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God.” Do you have a way you want God to solve your problem? Do you doubt God when He doesn’t solve it the way you in which you want? Is He asking you to be obedient in something that seems unrelated? Please pray that we and our friends know that God always has our eternal best interest in His purpose. Please pray for Geoff Beakley.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel. From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a chief among them.” So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the people of Israel.
But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height.”

‭‭Numbers‬ ‭13:1-3, 30-32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because Caleb says, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Caleb trusted in God’s promises as opposed to the counsel of his peers. We know that all the Israelites who left Egypt, except Caleb and Joshua, had to die out before they could enter the promise land because of their lack of faith. How many decisions do you have today? How many fears? Are you looking at them in light of God’s promises? Please pray that we and our friends be about God’s purpose today. Please pray for Jonathon Arnold.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.” And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him. And Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No; it is the Lord who has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.” And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I have regard for Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would neither look at you nor see you.”‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭3:11-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/2ki.3.11-14.esv
All,
This stands out because Jehoshaphat says, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” The other two Kings were making decisions from their own knowledge, while King Jehoshaphat continued to seek a relationship with the Lord and didn’t want to make a decision without Him. I usually make the wrong decision when I don’t ask God first even when it seems to be so clear. God has seen tomorrow and He knows what is in people’s hearts. It seems crazy to not ask Him. Please pray that we and our friends seek the Lord’s counsel today. Please pray for the CLC prayer and fundraising breakfast on Nov 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes, and when the Lord heard it, his anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp. Then the people cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to the Lord, and the fire died down. So the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the Lord burned among them. Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving. And the people of Israel also wept again and said, “Oh that we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic. But now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.””‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/num.11.1-6.esv
All,
This stands out because Moses says, “And the people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes.” We are all tempted to complain when things do not go our way. God loves it when we talk to Him about our issues, but to “complain” is to disregard that which we are thankful and also to not trust Him. This seems impossible to do without a eternal mindset. If our only reference point is the here and now as opposed to how these issues fit in eternally, we will find it very difficult to understand that God has a plan. Please pray that we and our friends focus on that which we are thankful. Please pray for Jonathan Arnold.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.127.1-2.esv
All,
This stands out because Solomon says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” These verses gives me a ton of peace. If I’m involved in something, I get to ask if God is in what I’m doing. If He is, then He will enable me to do His purpose. If He isn’t involved in what I’m doing, then I need to stop. Please pray that we and our friends be about God’s purpose today. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on Nov. 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills, and so they were stronger than we. But let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And do this: remove the kings, each from his post, and put commanders in their places, and muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot. Then we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.” And he listened to their voice and did so.”‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭20:23-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ki.20.23-25.esv
All,
This stands out because the servants of the king of Syria said, “Their gods are gods of the hills, and so they were stronger than we.” Worldly wisdom is tempting to follow, but it’s not the wisdom we get from God. Only God has created us and has seen tomorrow like He sees today. Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s wisdom today and not rely on worldly wisdom. Please pray for Hollis Younger.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.” And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.” And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again.”‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ki.19.1-6.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer of 1 Kings says, “Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba”. Elijah had just been a part of God’s miracle of burning a wet offering in front of the whole town. The whole town acknowledged God and bowed down. However, Elijah was still afraid of Jezebel. Are you letting a fear control your actions right now? You know God personally and have seen His power, but yet still fear? Your in good company, but God still wants us to face our fears with His power. Please pray that we and our friends go to God today with any fear that may be controlling you. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on November 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then the word of the Lord came to him, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.” So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.” And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.” And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.'” And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.”‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭17:8-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ki.17.8-16.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer of 1 Kings says, “And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days.” This is faith! It goes completely against common sense, but yet the widow obeyed. Is God asking you to obey in a way that seems to be against common sense? Please pray that we and our friends spend time with God today and obey Him. Please pray for Pete Jones’s family as he is with the Lord now.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshiped him. He erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. And Ahab made an Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.”‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭16:30-33‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/1ki.16.30-33.esv
All,
This stands out because the writer of 1 Kings says, “And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam”. Israel had so many bad kings by this point that the writer says it was a “light thing” for Omri to act as he did. Are you surprised at things our society does now? Are you tempted to complain about it or step in and serve God’s purpose in it? The first Christians dealt with a much more Pagan society than ours. What did they do? Please pray that we and our friends obey God when He nudges us today. Please pray for the CLC Prayer and Fundraising breakfast on November 28th.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭117:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/psa.117.1-2.esv
All,
This stands out because this Psalm is so short but says a great deal. His love is great for us and He is faithful to us forever. A lot of issues arise when we want His love and ……. something else. Ask yourself if you are grateful for His love or if you require something else? That something else could be a idol. Please pray that we and our friends are thankful for God and God alone. Please pray for Stacey Kessler.
