Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.”

Ezekiel 3:16-19 ESV

All,

This stands out because the Lord says, “Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.” It is important for us to be in a community of believers so we can warn each other and help each other. All of us get off track and need guidance from our friends in Christ. Please pray that we and our friends will speak and listen to our friends when God nudges us. Please pray for Hunter Hopkins group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.””

Isaiah 6:1-8 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.6.1-8.esv

All,

This stands out because Isaiah says, “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips”. When we encounter God, it’s very convicting but purifying. God wants the best for us and why wouldn’t we want to be in His presence always? It’s either, “Thy will be done or my will be done”(Ken Boa). Your choice. Please pray that we and our friends chose to be in continual relationship with God today. Please pray for Frank Lyles as he has surgery this morning in his back for nerve damage.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right!”

Isaiah 5:20-23 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.5.20-23.esv

All,

This stands out because Isaiah says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil”. Most of us are driven by outcomes and need certain outcomes in our daily life. Are we tempted to justify certain means to get to a certain end? Does God promise a certain business deal will turn out the way we want? Are we tempted to go outside of His purpose to get a certain outcome? Please pray that we and our friends trust God and obey Him throughout the process. Please pray for Hunter as he builds his group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“he bent his bow and set me as a target for his arrow. He drove into my kidneys the arrows of his quiver; I have become the laughingstock of all peoples, the object of their taunts all day long. He has filled me with bitterness; he has sated me with wormwood. He has made my teeth grind on gravel, and made me cower in ashes;

My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.””

Lamentations 3:12-16, 20-24 ESV

http://bible.com/59/lam.3.12-16,20-24.esv

All,

This stands out because the writer of Lamentations says, “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope”. I have not personally dealt with, “He has made my teeth grind on gravel”, and all these other afflictions, but I do get depressed over much less harsh afflictions. It’s tough in the moment, but He wants us to remember His steadfast love for us in those moments. Please pray that we and our friends put our hope in Christ. Please pray for Larry Ham’s daughter, Lyndsey.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the Lord is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.”

Joel 3:14-16 ESV

http://bible.com/59/jol.3.14-16.esv

All,

This stands out because Joel says, “the Lord is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.” Is God your refuge and stronghold? It’s so tempting to look for peace in earthly things and then be disappointed in them. God will never disappoint us. Please pray that we and our friends put our trust in God as we make tough decisions today. Please pray for Debi Jacobus’s daughter Danielle.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation. Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.”

Psalms 149:4-5 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.149.4-5.esv

All,

This stands out because the psalmist says, “For the Lord takes pleasure in his people”. God created us to have a relationship with us. He enjoys being with us as He wants us to enjoy being with Him. He loves us and wants the best for us. He convicts us when we hurt ourselves because He loves us. Please pray that we and our friends remember today how much God loves us. Please pray for Debi Jacobus’s daughter Danielle as she had a stroke.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven.”

Psalms 148:11-13 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.148.11-13.esv

All,

This stands out because the psalmist says, “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted”. I’m constantly amazed how other things or people will subtly become more important to me than God. Whenever this happens, there is a lot of unrest and I start asking God why. Out of His love, He helps me see these idols that I’ve created and brings my attention back to Him. Please pray that we and our friends ask God to reveal any idols in our lives that we are putting above Him. Please pray for us to really know how much God loves us.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.”

Psalms 147:10-11 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.147.10-11.esv

All,

This stands out because the psalmist says, “the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.” Do you have a sense of unrest that you need to take to God? Is there something you just can’t get peace about? Have you asked God with “prayer, petition and thanksgiving”(Phil 4:6) knowing He will give you rest? Please pray that we and our friends put our hope in His steadfast love today. Please pray for Debi Jacobus’s daughter.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever;”

Psalms 146:1-6 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.146.1-6.esv

All,

This stands out because the psalmist says, “whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth”. It’s tempting to put our hope in temporal things that seem to give immediate solutions or in other people. God created the universe, us, our children. He sees tomorrow and next year as clearly as He sees right now. He not only wants what’s best for us, but knows what that is. Please pray that we and our friends spend time with God today and put our hope in Him. Please pray for Henry who continues to be a great encourager.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”

Psalms 145:18-21 ESV

http://bible.com/59/psa.145.18-21.esv

All,

This stands out because the psalmist says, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” How do we call on Him in truth? Do we seek the truth or just want to validate our opinion? Jesus said the truth will set us free. Please pray that we and our friends will pray today for God to reveal truth to us. Please pray for men to lead CLC groups.
