Daily CLC Prayer verse

“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.”

Isaiah 54:13-14 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.54.13-14.esv

All,

This stands out because the Lord says, “great shall be the peace of your children.” God promises us abundant life in Him. For a parent, is there anything better than your children to have peace? Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s abundant life today by believing Him. Please pray if you should be a co-facilitator for a new group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 53:4-6 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.53.4-6.esv

All,

This stands out because Isaiah says, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” We know Isaiah wrote this 700 years before Christ was born and it’s still true today. I sometimes get discouraged when non-believers only hear Christians speak about sin as opposed to how Jesus came to take our sins away. Even some Christian leaders deny the Bible in order for someone to feel loved when they are denying the very essence of Christ to give them freedom from sin. Please pray that we and our friends are thankful for what Christ has done for us today. Please pray for Debi Jacobus’ daughter Danelle as she recovers from a stroke.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion.”

Isaiah 52:7-8 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.52.7-8.esv

All,

This stands out because Isaiah says, “who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Do you recall times when your disobedience turned to repentance and then a renewed desire to love God completely? The situation may be the same, but the perspective is completely different and marked with a sense of peace? Please pray that we and our friends walk with Jesus completely today. Please pray for Joe’s group as it’s forming.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“”Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord: look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but one when I called him, that I might bless him and multiply him.”

Isaiah 51:1-2 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.51.1-2.esv

All,

This stands out because the Lord says, “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord”. God wants our undivided attention. If a branch is apart from the vine, it withers. Why would we want to be apart from the vine (John 15:5)? Please pray that we and our friends pursue God today. Please pray for Robert Yarbrough as he is going through treatment.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea;”

Isaiah 48:17-18 ESV

http://bible.com/59/isa.48.17-18.esv

All,

This stands out because the Lord says, “Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments!” Do we thinks of God’s commands as restricting or liberating? We would never give our children everything they want because somethings would harm them or not be the best for them. Please pray that we and our friends ask ourselves “why“ if we are tempted to disobey God. Please pray Robert Y.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.”

Proverbs 31:10, 28-31 ESV

http://bible.com/59/pro.31.10,28-31.esv

All,

This stands out because King Lemuel says, “a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” This is one of my favorite passages as it reminds me of my wife. It is a true blessing to be married to someone who fears the Lord. Please pray that we and our friends know that God is present with us every moment today. Please pray for all wives today.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.”

Proverbs 30:8-9 ESV

http://bible.com/59/pro.30.8-9.esv

All,

This stands out because Agur says, “lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?”” How easy is it to starting thinking we are 100% responsible for our situation? Especially when things are good. As we discussed in CLC this morning, God has a plan for all of us. He may give you certain gifts, talents or circumstances or He may not. Either way, it’s all for His purpose. Please pray that we and our friends abide in Christ’s love today. Please ask God if He wants you to be a co-facilitator for a CLC group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Many seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice.”

Proverbs 29:25-26 ESV

http://bible.com/59/pro.29.25-26.esv

All,

This stands out because Solomon says, “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” Do you ever let fear control your decisions? How good are you at calculating all possible outcomes and then executing the perfect plan? Has God seen the next year? Does He have a purpose in your actions today? Please pray that we and our friends trust in the Lord today. Please pray for Joe’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.”

Proverbs 28:13-14 ESV

http://bible.com/59/pro.28.13-14.esv

All,

This stands out because Solomon says, “he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.” I can’t imagine anyone would want to harden his heart, but what’s the alternative when we don’t repent? God wants us to walk in the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace…..), but is that possible without repentance? Please pray that we and our friends repent for any sins and abide in God. Please pray for Robert Yarbrough as he is in Houston for treatment.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory. A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”

Proverbs 25:26-28 ESV

http://bible.com/59/pro.25.26-28.esv

All,

This stands out because Solomon says, “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” We all lack self-control at times. Do we see it exposing us like a “city without walls”. John 10:10 says, “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I come to give you life to the full”. Do we see lack of self-control as times the thief will steal, kill and destroy? Please pray that we and our friends abide in God’s strength today especially during times of temptation. Please pray for Hunter and David’s training next week.
