Daily CLC Prayer verse

“When they heard these words, some of the people said, “This really is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” So there was a division among the people over him. Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭7:40-44‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem”.  Can both parties be right here, but still in disagreement?  Often when I’m in confusion, I don’t know all the facts and God’s purpose isn’t clear. Typically, getting facts requires growing in relationship with other people and then clarity comes. I wonder if God allowed the confusion to prompt the relationship?  Please pray that we and our friends see others as God sees them. Please pray for Wes and David’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?” So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.”
‭‭John‬ ‭7:14-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.7.14-18.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.”  When you hear people speaking truth, it’s like breathing pure oxygen in that environment. There is also a opposite feeling when there seems to be manipulation of the Word. Please pray that we and our friends seek truth in all our meetings. Please pray for Wesley.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:5-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.6.5-10.esv
All,
This stands out because Andrew says, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”  Imagine being the boy here. This is all he has. His parents probably lectured him on being responsible with this food. He could have justified not sharing the food because he needed it and he was just a boy. Did he give the loaves to do a good deed or did he believe that Jesus was who He said He was and therefore trusted Jesus with all he had and the outcome?  Jesus doesn’t need us, but He loves for us to be a part of His miracles.  Please pray that we and our friends trust Jesus with all we have and with the outcome of giving Him all way are. Please pray for Michael’s CLC North Atlanta Breakfast tomorrow.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. Not that the testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen, and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:33-40‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.5.33-40.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.”  Do you refuse to put All your hope in Jesus?  I know I’m tempted to try to earn eternal life by obeying certain parts of the Word, but conveniently ignoring others. However, when we abide in Jesus every moment, we have our hope in Him. Please pray that we and our friends put ALL our hope in Christ today by abiding in Him continuously. Please pray for Michael’s North Atlanta CLC Breakfast this Saturday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his word. They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.””
‭‭John‬ ‭4:39-42‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.4.39-42.esv
All,
This stands out because John says, “Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony.”  John is referring to the woman at the well. Remember, she was at the well at high noon because she wasn’t welcome when all the other women would be at the well. Do you ever fell like your testimony doesn’t matter because of mistakes in your past?  He can use any of us for His purpose. Please pray that we and our friends boldly speak what God prompts us to say. Please pray for Wesley.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.””
‭‭John‬ ‭4:7-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.4.7-15.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.”  Are we complete with Jesus?  Do we need Jesus and ….?  What is the “and ….” in your life?  Can we truly worship Jesus if we need the “and ….” also?  Please pray that we and our friends are complete with Jesus alone. Please pray for Wesley.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭2:6-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.2.6-11.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.”  Remember the closet in “My Heart Christ’s home” that he didn’t want Jesus to see, but only Jesus could clean it?  Here Jesus takes dirty water and turns it into good wine. Do you trust Jesus to transform the dirty water in your life to the good wine?  Please pray that we and our friends trust Jesus with the dirty water today. Please pray for Wesley’s healing.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.””
‭‭John‬ ‭1:32-34‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/jhn.1.32-34.esv
All,
This stands out because John says, “I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”  Isn’t it great that John could see what others couldn’t see?  Isn’t the world like that now?  If we seek to please God, we seem to stand out from the herd that is convinced to go in one direction or see something clearly that others do not. Please pray that we and our friends see people as God sees them today. Please pray for David and Wes’ group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:36-39‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/luk.24.36-39.esv
All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?”  Do we doubt Jesus or are we troubled because we put our faith in something other than Jesus?  When you are troubled by certain outcomes, is it Jesus’s outcome you want or yours?  Did you do your best?  Please pray that we and our friends put our trust in Jesus today and obey Him. Please pray for Wes and David’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem,

When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:13, 30-35‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/luk.24.13,30-35.esv

All,
This stands out because they said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”  Do you give God the opportunity to open the Bible to you?  Does your heart burn when a truth is seen or something about you is transformed?  Jesus is waiting at the door for you to let Him in. Please pray that we and our friends spend time with Jesus today and ask Him to open the Bible to us. Please pray Doug and Michael’s group.
