Daily CLC Prayer verse

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.”

All,
This stands out because Luke says, “And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.”  Do you ever just sit back and rejoice that you believe in God?  I read Ken Boa’s yellow card everyday and one of the statements reminds me to abide in Christ.  Is there anything better than abiding in Christ?  Your hope is focused on Christ. You are filled with the fruit of the Spirit. Please pray that we and our friends take a moment and really appreciate the blessing that we and our families believe in God. Please pray for the men that would God would want to hear about CLC.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:6-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.16.6-10.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.”  Is Jesus guiding you away from anything?  Does He see something in your life that harms you, but you think is beneficial?  I know I try to rationalize these things to Jesus. Please pray that we and our friends trust Jesus today solely. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal anyone you know that would want to know more about CLC and let me know.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter. And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.15.6-9.esv
All,
This stands out because Peter says, “And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us”.  I love how Peter is confident they have the Holy Spirit in them. Their hearts were cleansed by faith. Are you enjoying the fruit of the Spirit?  Please pray that we and our friend’s hearts are cleansed by faith. Please pray for Hollis Hart.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds. But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭14:12-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.14.12-15.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd”. Paul and Barnabas wanted these people to put their faith in Jesus and Jesus alone. They knew only Jesus can save them. Not good preaching or wise counsel, but Jesus. The worst thing that could happen is the people mistake them for Jesus and never know Him. Please pray that we and our friends seek to know Jesus alone today. Please pray for Hollis Hart.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, “Dress yourself and put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” And he went out and followed him. He did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord, and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel left him. When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.””

All,
This stands out because Luke says, “Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.”  Are you in a tough situation?  There doesn’t seem to be any good solution?  We know God works every thing towards His purpose (Rom 8:28). Have you asked the Spirit to walk with you through the trial?  Have you asked friends to pray for you?  Please pray that we and our friends ask the Holy Spirit for power for us and others. Please pray for Hollis Hart and his family and doctors.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.” And Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?” And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:17-22‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.10.17-22.esv
All,
This stands out because the Spirit says, “Behold, three men are looking for you. Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.”  How dependent are you on the guiding of the Holy Spirit?  Do you need the peace that comes when you submit each day to God?  Please pray that we and our friends spend time with Jesus today and ask His power to do His purpose. Please pray for the CLC breakfast on Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.” So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:36-41‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.9.36-41.esv
All,
This stands out because Luke says, “Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed;”. Peter prayed before performing this miracle. Peter has no power of his own just like we have no power of our own. However, Peter and we can pray and the Holy Spirit will empower us to do God’s purpose. Please pray that we and our friends seek Jesus first. Please pray for the CLC Breakfast this Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was much joy in that city.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:1, 4-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.8.1,4-8.esv

All,
This stands out because Luke says, “Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.”  Due to the adversity that Saul was creating, Phillip flees to Samaria and preaches there and some receive the Word of God there. None of us enjoy adversity, but God will use it for His purpose. Do you have adversity going on now?  Are you looking to God to stop it or to guide you?  Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s direction in the adversity. Please pray for the CLC breakfast on Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:54-60‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.7.54-60.esv
All,
This stands out because Stephen says, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”  Wow!  Wow! I understand we are to love our enemies, but these people are killing him and Stephen is concerned about their eternal souls. Do we have that concern for people in general, much less people who are determined to hurt us?  I can’t say that I’m there. Please pray that we and our friends do see everyone as a child of God and be most concerned about their eternal life. Please pray for the CLC breakfast next Thursday.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And the high priest said, “Are these things so?” And Stephen said: “Brothers and fathers, hear me. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, and said to him, ‘Go out from your land and from your kindred and go into the land that I will show you.’ Then he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And after his father died, God removed him from there into this land in which you are now living. Yet he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a foot’s length, but promised to give it to him as a possession and to his offspring after him, though he had no child.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬
http://bible.com/59/act.7.1-5.esv
All,
This stands out because Stephen says, “but promised to give it to him as a possession and to his offspring after him, though he had no child.”  Has God convicted you to make a decision that seems impossible to fulfill?  Are you doubting that it’s from God?  Does it align with the Bible?  Have you prayed and sought wise counsel? I think God likes to show us what He can do if we just trust Him in obedience. Please pray that we and our friends obey and look forward to Gods plan. Please pray for the CLC Breakfast on 12/13.
