All,This stands out because the people said, “that the Lord your God may show us the way we should go, and the thing that we should do.” These people are a remnant that is left after the exile out of Judah and are understandably concerned about their safety and hunger. They want God to say go to Egypt, but God says stay put. We want God to tell us to do what we want to do, but what happens when He doesn’t? Do we trust Him? Do we remember that He knows the future. That He knows what’s in the minds of all the parties at play? That He knows about potential issues like viruses? Please pray that we and our friends seek God’s direction today and obey. Please pray for all those who do not know Jesus today.

All,This stands out because the psalmist says, “On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.” Are you calling on God to strengthen you today? He will. It’s amazing how our perspective changes when we acknowledge all things coming from God instead of us. Once that perspective changes, He gives bountifully what we need. Especially the Fruit of the Spirit(love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control). Please pray that we and our friends be about God’s purpose today. All,This stands out because the psalmist says, “I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.” There are so many uncertainties right now in our circumstances that it is overwhelming to occupy our minds with all the possible outcomes. In the lesson yesterday, I referenced:
“And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. Matthew 14:28-31 ESV
Peter walked on water when he focused on Jesus, but then sank when he focused on his circumstances. We think we are most in control when we focus on our circumstances, but we actually are able to walk through the circumstances in the best way when we focus on Jesus. We need His wisdom and guidance during trials and not lean on our own understanding. Please pray that we and our friends focus on Jesus today. Please pray for our leaders receive the wisdom and guidance from above and not the world.

All,This stands out because Solomon says, “ Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. I don’t think a day has gone by in years when I don’t say that verse in one instance or another. It’s so comforting to know that God is either behind something or He isn’t. If He is, then my responsibility is to do His purpose and my best. If He isn’t, I shouldn’t be either. It also says He gives us rest, not circumstances. All,This stands out because the psalmist says, “seek his presence continually!” John 15:5 says we will bear fruit when we abide in Him. Is it a challenge to abide or seek His presence continually?
