Daily CLC Prayer verse

““Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:45-51‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This sticks out because the faithful and wise servant is found doing God’s will all the time. How many kids like Roof (the Charleston killer) are in our community now and we think they are someone else’s problem? How many boys have no good father figure at home? Are we serving the people that need to be served? Please pray that we and our friends use our unique abilities to help the people that need help in the way God wants us to. Please pray for the Charleston families.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

““Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:9-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This sticks out because false prophets make things worse, but Christ will be proclaimed throughout the whole world. We definitely have false prophets cleverly speaking to people now so people can tell themselves they are spiritual without believing what Christ says. Satan doesn’t care who or what you worship as long as you don’t worship God. We are a light on a hill. Please let your light shine today in a relationship you care about. Where can you be a part of God’s purpose today? Please pray that we and our friends trust God in a area where we haven’t in the past. Please pray for Jeremy and Gary group this week as they have there first mtg after their overnight on Friday.

Families to Roof: May God ‘have mercy on your soul’

All,
The article below has the unbelievable acts of grace by the victims families to Roof. I’m sending this out because there are many other articles that are centering around politicians agendas. I’m concerned that the compassion that these Christians are showing will be drowned out by the evil schemes of satan to divert attention away from him. Please pray for these victims and pray for our Christian leaders to take a stand and fight the good fight.
Check out this article from USA TODAY:

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.23.1-4.esv
All,
This sticks out because Jesus says,”for they preach, but do not practice”. Paul says we are to “speak the truth in love”, but he also says the “greatest of these is love”. People don’t care how much we know till they know how much we care. I know I can be like the Pharisees and see the wrong in people, but Jesus reminds us that everyone is His child and He wants a relationship with them. Please pray that we and our friends walk with others that need us. Please pray for the families of the victims in Charleston, SC.

Please pray for Charleston, SC

All,
I feel compelled to ask everyone to be in prayer today for our brothers in Charleston, SC. A HORRIFIC attack has occurred against the Kingdom of God. I know Satan will turn the attention towards gun laws and racism so Christians don’t stay focused on the problem behind the racism and the murders. John 10:10 says the “the thieve comes to steal kill and destroy”. 1 Peter 5:8 says “your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour”.
I see this as spiritual warfare and it requires all of us to ask for wisdom and discernment on how we address the warfare. Politicians will make this about gun laws and racism to help themselves out. We all know satan is behind racism and murder. I want to do what God wants us to do to fight the real problem of evil.
Please pray for the Christian leaders in Charleston and the Nation to lead Christians in this latest battle of spiritual warfare. Please ask all your friends to pray. Thank you.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’? If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:41-46‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.22.41-46.esv
All,
This sticks out because it’s says “no one was able to answer Him”. I like to be in control like most people. I’m also tempted to ask Jesus help my purpose instead of being a part of His purpose. Here He reminds His audience that His ways are much greater than our ways. We try to put ourselves up with Jesus, but He knows all. He knows the future. He knows what is actually in every man’s heart. He also knows what is the absolute best for us. Please pray that we and our friends trust and obey Jesus today. Please pray for Cheever and Steven’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:10-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.22.10-12.es
All,
This sticks out because He invites “both bad and good”, but still requires the wedding garment. I’m sure plenty of commentaries explain the garment, but it seems to be loving God with ALL of our heart. Jesus says plenty times, “if you love me you will obey me”. If we are tempted not to obey in a area, it may be a idol. Please pray that we and our friends trust God ABOVE all else. Please pray for Robert and Jim’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?” Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:23-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.21.23-24.esv
All,
This sticks out because authority of Jesus and the Scriptures is a Major question of today also. It seems most people want to think of Jesus as a good wise person that we can pick and chose what He says. If we believe he has authority, then how can we pick and chose which parts of the Bible have authority and which ones don’t? He constantly debated with the Pharisees who wanted to obey certain parts and chose to ignore others. Please pray that we and our friends understand the Bible as the authority it is. Please pray for Jonnell, Cedric and Devon’s first meeting tonight.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:26-27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.20.26-27.esv
All,
This sticks out because serving others enables us to be less “self-centered” and moves us to “other-centered” and hopefully to “God-centered”. I try to reflect back on the previous day in the mornings and pick things I’m grateful for. Inevitably, the things that come to mind that I really enjoyed upon reflection where the times is service to someone else. Once again, Jesus instructs us to something and it’s helps us out also. Please pray for we and our friends to see today as God’s day and serve His purpose in All of our actions. Please pray for Cheever and Steven’s group.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/mat.21.21.esv
All,
This sticks out because Jesus adds, “and do not doubt”. We all know this verse and the question typically becomes “How do I KNOW His will?” “If I KNOW what He wants me to do, I’ll do it”. It seems we all KNOW at least one area where He wants us to trust Him and we “doubt” that He KNOWS more than us in that one area. Do we have faith in Him in that one area where He wants us to obey? Please pray that we and our friends obey God in that one area He has asked us to today. Please pray for Brandon and Doug’s group.
