Daily CLC Prayer verse

“The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭16:8-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because John says, “they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.”  It’s amazing that people can go through all this and still not repent. We see a glimpse of it in today’s world though. Are we tempted to keep relying on the little idols we have created?  They seem to bring us love, joy peace, etc. while we know only God gives those as fruit of the Spirit. Please pray that we and our friends ask God to reveal any areas of sin and thank Him for His forgiveness (from Ken Boa). Please pray for Christians to see everyone as a child of God.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭14:9-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because John says, “Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.”  Revelation is a wild book that is tough to discern. There are parts that are very clear though. A call for us to “keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus” is important then and now. I think it’s important to ask ourselves why we sometimes don’t keep the commandments or faith in Jesus?  In this book, most people don’t keep the faith and it seems they put their faith in the lies of Satan, which temporarily helps them, but ultimately hurts them. Please pray that we and our friends challenge ourselves when we are tempted not to keep faith and ask why. Please pray for the Beloved house as they help women escape the life of prostitution.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:11-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because John says, “Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.”  Do you find it strange that most worldly institutions are very quick to celebrate the causes of the day(same-sex marriage, CRT, etc.) but very quick to denounce any beliefs based on the Bible?  We should never be surprised. The world will throw out things like eugenics as helpful, but only realize decades later that it’s leads to people like Hitler and planned parenthood. The only way to protect ourselves from being influenced by the world is abiding in Jesus and reading His Word. The truth will set us free. Please pray that we and our friends seek truth and practice it while loving everyone as a child of God. Please pray for our Christian leaders to speak truth in love.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because John says, “By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.” In verse 1, John says if we do sin, we have a advocate with the father. Jesus knows we are human, but He also knows we are a child of God (John 1:12) so He will transform us as we acknowledge our sin and repent. How freeing is it to abide in Christ and know His power enables you to be in relationship with Him. Please pray that we and our friends “walk in the same way in which He walked”. Please pray for people to see the racism and partiality, which are both unbiblical, in the teaching of Critical Race Theory.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because John says, “so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”  Do we see ourselves as in fellowship all day with the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?  We get to chose to be in fellowship all day. We can also chose to separate ourselves from this fellowship through sin and not experience the joy that comes w abiding(John 15:5). That doesn’t mean God loves us less, but that we choose to experience the desires of the flesh or the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:21-23).  Please pray that we and our friends realize the joy of walking in fellowship with God today. Please pray for Hal Haddon’s wife, Linda, who is recovering now.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:18-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because Peter says, “But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.” My family knows that I am very quick to complain when something doesn’t go my way. However, complaining seems to be the opposite of what Peter is proclaiming here. How do we show respect to those in authority who are doing harm?  Martin Luther King seemed to show respect while also suffering for doing God’s purpose. How can we be about God’s purpose today and show respect to those who mean harm?  Please pray that we and our friends be about God’s purpose today relying on His grace to empower us. Please pray for more men to come together in CLC groups to learn to lead in this upside down world.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:3-7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because Peter says, “who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”  Do we think of faith as guarding us?  We all will put our faith in something. However, the only faith that is real is faith in God. We are like sheep and He is the Shepherd (Psalm 23) that knows the future and knows the plans He has for us. Please pray that we and our friends put all our faith in Jesus today by joyfully obeying His Word. Please pray for more leaders to have a true relationship with Jesus.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit. My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.”
‭‭James‬ ‭5:16-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because James says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”  Transparency is a huge pillar in CLC. I don’t know how people grow closer to Christ without having a committed group in which to be transparent. We also need it for a lifetime. As long as we live in this world, we need to confess our sins and pray for one another. Please pray that we and our friends confess and pray for one another. Please pray that we invite more men into CLC to equip them for a true relationship with Christ.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:19-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because the writer of Hebrews says, “let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Are we drawing nearer to Jesus? He is waiting and wants to transform us through faith. It’s His power, not ours. I need to repeat that last sentence to myself continuously. His power is transforming me. My part is faith in Him. Please pray that we and our friends are grateful that Jesus already died for us and loves us. Please pray for unbelievers to know Jesus and not see religion.

Daily CLC Prayer verse

“As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’” Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:11-14, 18-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because the writer of Hebrews says, “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.” How do we see unbelief? When we sin, do we see God’s concern or anger? God doesn’t want us to sin BECAUSE of His great love for us. He knows how easy it is to harden our hearts by the deceitfulness of sin. Then, when sin settles in, we are not able to know His rest. Please pray that we and our friends pray to God to help us with our unbelief in our particular areas of struggle. Please pray that we all have an answer for our belief in gentleness and respect(1 Peter 3:15)
