Daily CLC Prayer verse

“O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭131:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,This stands out because the psalmist says, “I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.”  There are so many uncertainties right now in our circumstances that it is overwhelming to occupy our minds with all the possible outcomes. In the lesson yesterday, I referenced:

“And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?””

Matthew 14:28-31 ESV
Peter walked on water when he focused on Jesus, but then sank when he focused on his circumstances. We think we are most in control when we focus on our circumstances, but we actually are able to walk through the circumstances in the best way when we focus on Jesus. We need His wisdom and guidance during trials and not lean on our own understanding. Please pray that we and our friends focus on Jesus today. Please pray for our leaders receive the wisdom and guidance from above and not the world.
