This stands out because the writer says, “All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with a whole heart to make David king over all Israel”. Why did these men of valor have a “whole heart” to make David king? Could they see that David was man after God’s own heart? We know he wasn’t close to perfect and made many human mistakes, but he always turned towards God instead of away from Him. Please pray that we and our friends always turn towards God and trust Him.
