This stands out because the Lord says, “Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!” Does this mean that we will earn the right for things to go well if we obey God? Or does it mean He created us and knows what is best for us and gives us commandments in order for us to be a part of His purpose? The First puts us in control of Him and the second keeps Him as Lord over us. Please pray that we and our friends know that God loves us and wants the best for us eternally.
