Daily CLC Prayer verse

Today’s reading is 1 Corinthians 7:1-24
“Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called. Were you a bondservant when called? Do not be concerned about it. (But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.) For he who was called in the Lord as a bondservant is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a bondservant of Christ. You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men. So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.”

All,
This stands out because Paul says, “You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men.” Why would someone chose to be a bondservant of men? It’s seems strange, but it happens all the time. We put other people’s opinion of us as higher that what God thinks of us. If we put a person’s opinion above God’s, we may be tempted to make certain decisions to please a person instead of obeying God. Only God knows what is best for us. Please pray that we and our friends “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..” (Matt 6:33). Please pray for Darren and Bruce’s group.
