Daily CLC Prayer verse

Today’s reading is Acts 17:16-34
“Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.”

All,
This stands out because Luke says, “his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols.” Does the Holy Spirit provoke you during the day? Do you get uncomfortable with a certain conversation in which you are participating or something you are doing? Or maybe to touch base with a friend? It’s easy to be so busy that we don’t notice these nudges, but they are there. Think of the most meaningful moments from last Christmas. They probably came while you were busy trying to get something else accomplished. Please pray that we and our friends be attuned to the nudges of the Holy Spirit today and obey them. Please pray for Darren and Bruce’s group as they are forming.
