Daily CLC Prayer verse

Today’s reading is Acts 15:22-41
“Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:24-27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All,
This stands out because the letter says, “men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Christianity is so new now and the brothers and elders are praying to God to make correct decisions as they grow daily. Men are being killed and thrown into prison. The letter describes these men as “men that have risked their lives”. It could have said men that “love the lord” or are “very wise”. They gave up livelihoods, reputations and possibly their life so that OTHER people would know the love of Jesus Christ. Please pray that we and our friends deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Him. Please pray for the Wernowsky, Thrasher and Parson families as we enter the Christmas season.
