Daily CLC Prayer verse

Today’s reading is Mark 9:1-29
“And he asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?” And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.” And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.” And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.”

All,
This stands out because Jesus says, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you?” This doesn’t sound like something Jesus would say. However, was it a indictment of the people or of its leaders? The Bible describes Jesus as the good shepherd over the sheep. Leaders are to teach faith in Jesus. Not just faith in faith, but faith in Jesus. How do people learn to exercise their faith muscle? Leaders point them to trust in Jesus Christ. Are you a shepherd or a sheep? Both are good, but Jesus has different expectations for His shepherds. Please pray that we and our friends put our trust in Jesus today. Please pray for Debbie, Makenna and Kole.
