Daily CLC Prayer verse

Today’s reading is Mark 6:1-32
“But an opportunity came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his nobles and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee. For when Herodias’s daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests. And the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.” And he vowed to her, “Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.””

All,
This stands out to me because of the pride of King Herod when he says, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.” I know Kings have great power, but you can just see the pride on his face when he makes a very bad decision just to show his crowd how great he is. We all want to impress people and are tempted to give them what they want if we can, but do we ask God if this is how He wants us to use HIS resources the He GAVE us? Please pray that we and our friends are thankful for the abilities God has given us today and be good stewards of them. Please pray for Debbie, Makenna and Kole.
